Professional Development Programs
From certificate programs to comprehensive workshops and training seminars, the University of Maine is committed to providing online and in-person professional development programs to Maine’s workforce.
All of our programs are:
- Open to the public as well as to the University of Maine System community.
- Available to those who are unemployed, underemployed, or making a career change, in addition to those seeking contact hours for licensure or attaining skills for advancement.
- Designed to suit a range of public and private sector occupations, including education, healthcare, social work, and nonprofit and corporate administration.
- Led by experienced facilitators and delivered live (not pre-recorded).
If your employer is a compact member of the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce, you may be eligible to take these programs at a reduced cost. Visit our Harold Alfond Center Workforce Development Funding page for more information.
We are experiencing periodic disruptions to the availability of our program site for Intimate Partner / Domestic Violence Intervention Training. Please contact us at um.continuinged@maine.edu for more information on the program.
